who is brent hetherington?
Bass-baritone Brent Hetherington's powerful voice and captivating stage presence have earned him roles including Lo Zio Bonzo (Madama Butterfly), Schlémil (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Il Re (Aïda), Jim Thompson (Glory Denied) and the titular roles in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni.
In recent seasons, he has worked with prestigious companies such as Central City Opera, Pensacola Opera, Janiec Opera Company, Knoxville Opera, OperaWorks, and was a studio artist with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
In concert, he has been a featured soloist with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, and the Middle Tennessee Choral Society, performing works such as the Fauré Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. Mr. Hetherington received his Bachelor of Music from East Texas Baptist University in 2013 and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance in 2016 from the University of Tennessee.
In the 2018-19 season, Mr. Hetherington makes his debut with Sarasota Opera, Nashville Opera, and returns to Central City Opera.
